Sweet...sweet...CORN!

The hard work sure does pay off! Here we are working on freezing our sweet corn for the Klingenberg clan. Brett, Cassie, Grant and I worked for 4-5 hours getting it all done...all 112 bags!! It's so yummy, and great to know it's sitting in the freezer whenever we want some. :)
Here was the process:

Grant and Brett picked and shucked all of the ears.

Cassie and I tag-teamed washing...

cutting the corn off the cob...

cooking...

and bagging all of it! (once the guys were done picking and shucking, they did help clean and cut...I had to make sure to mention that and give credit where credit is due.)

Almost done! Notice a bunch of shucks on the ground.

All 112 bags sitting to cool! Another successful sweet corn harvest!

Brewer wedding!

On July 11, our good friends Wes and Bonnie got married!! Grant and Derek played trombone for the "Trombone" voluntary recessional at the wedding. We're so excited to have Bonnie living around here so we can hang out a lot!! Here are some pictures from the weekend:

We stayed at the Starlight Motel in Seneca, KS

I couldn't resist this picture. If you don't know, Grant's nickname is Spanks (still not really sure why), so we had to get a picture by the Spanky's Bar and Grill sign!!

precious Makayla

An impromptu family photo before going to the wedding!

Brett and Cassie - we were SO glad they came to visit for a good chunk of the summer :), and now we miss them since they left already. :(

I think SOME people were a bit tired. :)

SISTERS (in-law) picture!

All 6 of us - the 3 brothers and wives

There's the happy married couple! Congratulations Wes and Bonnie!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Grant decided to get his kite out the other day. He's very good at flying it...and I am not. He was doing all these tricks with it and I couldn't keep it in the air for more than 2 or 3 seconds. I guess I'll leave the kite flying up to him!

A lot has been going on!

I'm not going to be able to share EVERYTHING that has been going on the last few weeks in one post, but I'll eventually get you all caught up! (be patient...)
Starting off, wheat harvest came and went...fast! It was a good crop (I guess?) and it was HOTT...yes, hot with 2 T's makes it extra hot! :)

Here's Makayla riding in the combine with her mom and grandpa!
Other things going on around the farm:

Hauling cattle home from pasture = many trips back and forth with the cattle trailer! Sorry, no pictures.

Pouring a cement slab where they guys have been working very hard to change this cattle pen. Now we just need the feed bunks to be delivered (they'll sit on this cement slab), the fence to be rebuilt, and a driveway for the feed truck!

Grant was sunning the insides of his arms.
